About Us

Established in 1995, NZCare Group Ltd is a division of Healthcare of New Zealand Limited. We provide services that support people with disabilities to live independently in the community, whatever the level of support required.

Under the Treaty of Waitangi and our Māori Health Plan, we are responsive to the specific needs of Māori and have Kaupapa Māori services for Māori with intellectual disabilities.

Quality

NZCare's philosophy strongly asserts that quality of life for people with disability and their families/whānau means being treated with dignity, respect and support.

The best indicator of this and the quality of a service is the individual client's perception of that service and the contribution it has made to their quality of life.

Our Quality Plan outlines how we measure this and focus on continuous improvement based on feedback from:

  • Customer satisfaction surveys
  • Quality of Life Audits based on the Ministry of Health document An Ordinary Life.
  • Family/whānau forums
  • Client self advisory groups.

We are also measured externally against our contracts and Sector Standards: NZS 8134 (Health & Disability Sector Standard); NZS 8141 (Restraint Minimisation and Safe Practice); and NZS 8142 (Infection Control).

Like all other residential disability service providers we need to be certified. Certification Audits must be carried out be a designated audit agency. Our designated audit agency is the DAA Group Ltd.
