Our Services

A Place in the Community

NZCare provides services that support people with disabilities to live independently in the community, whatever their level of need.

We provide residential and supported living services for people with intellectual and physical disability, as well as respite and vocational/day services.

We also have a specialised Lower Hutt service, Amaryllis House, which is dedicated to supporting people with Huntington's disease.

Respecting the Individual

We are committed to giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to be supported with dignity and respect. Because of this, all our services are tailored to the support needs and wishes of the person and delivered by confident, competent staff. One of the services we access for our clients is Explore Specialist Services, who deliver client focused support in a transdisciplinary way.

By tailoring support for each person, we can ensure we are supporting them in a meaningful way and giving them choice in how they access our services. In particular we believe by tailoring support we ensure:

  • The personal and cultural wellbeing and individual potential of each person
  • The individual's right to an enriched life, maintaining their lifestyle and respecting their dignity and privacy
  • Maximum independence and participation in the community.

Under the Treaty of Waitangi and our Māori Health Plan, we are responsive to the specific needs of Māori and have Kaupapa Māori services for Māori with intellectual disabilities.
