An Ordinary Life

NZCare provides services so that people with intellectual disability can have ordinary lives in the community. We support approximately 450 people in over 90 homes around the country.

Residential Services

Our residential services support people with intensive and complex needs. The services are individually tailored to ensure that the people we support have the right to have their lives taken seriously, to make enduring personal relationships, to have their cultural values respected, to be given opportunities to grow, learn and develop, and be valued by others.

Respite Services

We offer respite services that support people with Physical Disability in a residential setting and an ‘Out of Family’ respite service which take into consideration, family need, goals of clients, compatibility with other clients, gender, integration into community, liaison with day services, schools and specialist services.

High & Complex Services

NZCare offers intensive support to meet the specific needs of individuals with high and complex needs. Specifically, trained staff provide behaviour support that focuses on teaching new skills whilst maintaining safety.

Vocation/Day Services

People with disabilities are communicating that they want to determine their own futures and be treated as valued members of society.

NZCare is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities are able to actively participate in the community and our service focuses on supporting our clients to:

  • Learn new things like using cash flow cards
  • Participate in activities such as swimming at the local pool or becoming a library member
  • Experience paying for a coffee at the local café
