At NZCare we are committed to respecting the cultural values of the people we support and under the Treaty of Waitangi and our Māori Health Plan, we are committed to the specific needs of Māori.

In our residential services, we support clients that identify as Māori by providing: cultural training (awhi te tangata) for all our staff; policies and procedures that ensure cultural safety around handling food and laundry; support for services to develop and maintain relationships with Māori resource people in the community; and support that meets cultural needs in the event of a death.
